So, I'm doing this Talkathon from my apartment. I live in Los Angeles, not too far from downtown, and I've been in the apartment and the city about a year.
Some thoughts on my apartment:
It's nice. I like it. It's a loft. Which is one of those words you type, and then wonder, who thought that up? A real-estate agent? Because they're lofty? Anyway. I digress.
I used to live here alone. Now I have a roommate. Which is great, because roommates are instant community. Sort of a family you choose, even though you choose them based on responses to your classified ads. It's also great because they help out with things. Like the rent you can't afford anymore, now that you've run screaming from the corporate world.
I like the brick walls. Unless there's an earthquake, in which case they'll probably leave brick dust all over everything.
It smells good today, but it probably won't tomorrow.
It makes an excellent place to do a Talkathon in, because there aren't that many obstacles. So later on, when I get really tired from staying awake and IMing and e-mailing, I won't bump into things.
I took these pictures so you could get a sense of where I'm at.
